| As we get older or become too ill to handle our own affairs, we often need to turn to relatives or friends for help. Sometimes we need a long term solution for this. It is at this time that we should consider giving a Power of Attorney to a relative, close family friend, Solicitor or other Professional Advisor.
A "Lasting Power of Attorney" is a legal document by which you appoint someone else to deal with your affairs for you. You can continue to make decisions for yourself for as long as you are able and your attorney could deal with your affairs for you whenever you wished. Your attorney would take over altogether if and when this became necessary. You can have a Lasting Power of Attorney to cover your property and financial affairs and you can have a separate Lasting Power of Attorney to cover health and welfare decisions.
Please feel free to contact us to discuss your options.
