We follow the Solicitors Family Law Association code, with all members adopting a non-confrontational and constructive approach to divorce, although they also have extensive litigation experience of matters which have to be decided by the Courts.

Beetenson & Gibbon have a Contract with the Legal Services Commission, under which we can offer Legal Aid 'Public Funding' to clients whose means and merits qualify them for financial help with their family problems.

If Legal Aid is not available to you, we will tell you in advance what the likely costs will be and keep you regularly updated as to costs as your matter progresses.

What are the knowledge requirements of a Family Law Panel member? Applicants are required to have knowledge of family law work as follows:
•	divorce, judicial separation and nullity
•	private Children Act proceedings
•	financial provisions disputes (including pensions), and including those concerning cohabitants
•	the Child Support Agency jurisdiction and powers of enforcement
•	the courts' jurisdiction in domestic abuse matters (including between cohabitants)
•	emergency remedies and enforcement
•	impact of taxation and welfare benefist
•	impact of legal aid
•	the role and scope for mediation
•	adoption
•	child abduction
•	public law matters in Children Act proceedings
