Solicitor – Probate & Private Client

Reporting to: Partners

Responsible for: Probate & Private Client and Branch Office Management

 

BG Solicitors are looking for a self-motivated Probate and Private Client solicitor to join their team and take leadership responsibilities for our Barton branch office, with genuine progression and partnership opportunities for the right candidate.

Principle duties, tasks and responsibilities

  • To take instructions from clients in respect of probate and private clients matters;
  • To initiate office systems on new matters;
  • To instigate any actions required by the client, after discussions with them;
  • To draft appropriate documentation required in the course of probate;
  • To dictate letters to clients and others whenever appropriate and answer telephone enquiries;
  • To supervise correspondence as required;
  • To write to clients upon completion of matters, supervise the organisation of files and arrange for closure;
  • To undertake any training procedure/course as necessary and assist with allocation of training within the team;
  • To attend all relevant office meetings;
  • To manage and supervise junior members of staff, developing them professionally and supporting their progression;
  • To cultivate business contacts including recommendations on financial advice;
  • To ensure the confidentiality and security of all practice and client documentation and/or information;
  • To liaise with staff and management for the smooth running of a branch office including assisting with the monitoring of staffing rotas and supervision of wider office administration.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience

  • Extensive knowledge of Private Client law including Court of Protection and OPG procedure, IHT legislation, tax and estate planning
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Self-motivation
  • Cultural awareness and a professional approach to work generally
  • GDPR knowledge (and data protection generally)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Leadership skills

Full-Time Solicitor/ Court Advocate /Legal Executive Required for our busy Care Department.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Child Care Solicitor and/or Newly Qualified/Legal Executive to join our team.

We are looking for a dedicated, committed team player who can carry out their own advocacy.

We are a well-established practice with an excellent reputation in the Humberside region.

You will work alongside experienced Child Care Solicitors in a friendly and supportive environment and will manage a complex caseload ensuring high levels of client care and service at all times.

A Solicitor or Legal Executive who is a member of the Law Society Children’s Panel would be desirable, but those able to run a caseload from start to finish.

You should probably have at least 3 years post qualification experience or have some experience of running own caseload.

You will be required to have:

  • solid experience in all aspects of childcare law;
  • excellent advocacy, communication and client care skills;
  • full understanding of legal aid and experience of CCMS ;
  • IT Literacy; and
  • desire for professional development

Salary will be dependent on experience and what you can bring to the role.
